THE EVERYDAY PRACTICE01 / 07
Notice the momentUnderstand the patternTry one different response

Start with curiosity. Keep what helps.

Begin with something familiar

“There I go again.”

A quick yes. A defensive answer. Another hour spent thinking it through. Choose a moment you recognize and follow it with curiosity.

Saying yes automatically

Make room to check what you can offer before agreeing.

Reacting to criticism

Hear feedback and choose a response without rushing to defend or agree.

Pulling away

Notice when space helps and when a conversation needs a clear return.

Getting stuck overthinking

Separate useful preparation from another round of the same questions.

The seven-day path

One pattern.
A little more choice.

Each lesson includes a short explanation, a familiar example, one practical experiment, and a reflection that builds your map.

  1. 01
    Day 1

    Catch one ordinary moment

Which part of the sequence could I describe without assigning a motive to myself or anyone else?

  2. 02
    Day 2

Ask what the response is protecting

What did my first response offer in the short term, and what evidence supports that explanation?

  3. 03
    Day 3

Find the signal that arrives first

What signal was specific enough to recognize, and did it appear before, during, or after my usual response?

  4. 04
    Day 4

Keep the strength; notice its cost

How will I recognize when this strength has done enough for the situation?

  5. 05
    Day 5

    Make the next response smaller

Did the alternative preserve something I needed while changing a cost of the old response?

  6. 06
    Day 6

Put the practice into a conversation

Was my need or next step understandable without the other person having to accept my interpretation?

  7. 07
    Day 7

Build a map you can revise

What has earned another week of practice, what remains uncertain, and what evidence would change my mind?

Something you can keep

Your Personal
Pattern Map.

Your reflections become a simple guide to one recurring moment: what you notice, what matters underneath it, and what you want to try.

ADAPTIVE ENNEAGRAMPERSONAL PATTERN MAP

The automatic yes

The moment my pattern starts
Someone asks for one more favor when my week is already full.
What I may be protecting
I want to stay helpful and keep the relationship comfortable.
My early signal
My shoulders tighten, but I hear myself say “of course.”
The strength I want to keep
I notice what people need and care about following through.
The cost of overusing it
I become stretched thin and quietly resent the commitment.
My small alternative
“Let me check my week and get back to you this afternoon.”
The sentence I can use
“I care about helping. This week I can offer 20 minutes, rather than take this on.”
My next seven days
Pause before one request this week. Notice what actually happens.
A familiar pattern is a place to practice.

Before you begin

A few useful answers.

Do I need to know my Enneagram type?

No. Start with a familiar situation. A type can offer a useful perspective, but your lived experience is what you’ll work with.

What if I miss a day?

Your course and saved reflections will be here when you return. You can open any lesson, take more time, or pause email delivery from your course space.

What happens after the seven days?

Keep your Personal Pattern Map and continue practicing. If you want a broader view, you can explore the assessment and optional premium report. The course is complete on its own.

Is this personal coaching?

This is a self-guided learning and reflection course. You’ll receive written guidance and examples; individual coaching and personal responses are not included.
