Look beneath the resemblance
Both may accommodate people, avoid burdening others, and struggle to name their own needs.
The difference to explore
Two may actively earn connection through helping. Nine may preserve connection by reducing friction or minimizing a preference. Ask what you hope your accommodation will accomplish.
Use an actual moment
Recall one recent moment when you felt defensive or stuck. Which concern was more present: “To feel loved and connected through care for others.” or “To maintain connection and a sense of inner and outer peace.”? Describe what you wanted to protect before deciding which type fits.
Before accepting an ordinary request, name your actual preference privately. If it differs from the request, note whether the harder concern is becoming less needed or disturbing the connection. Try one small, respectful preference and record the result.
You can relate to both descriptions. Look for the motivation that recurs across settings, and include examples that challenge your first impression. This comparison adds reflection, not a new test score.
