The difference to explore
What is the behavior trying to do?

Driven Achiever
Motivation
To feel valuable through what you can accomplish, whether or not others see it.
What may feel at risk
Being without value when there is no accomplishment to rely on.
Ask yourself
When I am not accomplishing anything, what am I afraid that says about my value?
Recall one recent moment when you felt defensive or stuck. Which concern was more present: “To feel valuable through what you can accomplish, whether or not others see it.” or “To keep agency and protect yourself and the people who matter to you.”? Describe what you wanted to protect before deciding which type fits.
Try this over three days
Recall a low-stakes obstacle created by someone else’s decision. Describe what felt threatened before describing your response: the value your outcome would demonstrate, or your ability to act without their control. Compare with an obstacle that had no audience.
There is room to remain undecided.
You can relate to both descriptions. Look for the motivation that recurs across settings, and include examples that challenge your first impression. This comparison adds reflection, not a new test score.
